A young volunteer who began helping out with the computer systems for a Honiton community transport charity during lockdown has been recognised for his efforts.
Micheal Harwood, 20, was selected as part of the Mole Valley Farmers Country Heroes awards for his dedication and hard work volunteering for TRIP during the pandemic.
Mark Brown, Hayley and his team at Mole Valley Farmers were pleased to present the winning hamper to Michael at the store in Cullompton yesterday afternoon (11 Dec).
Sharon Thorne, TRIP Deputy Manager said: "It was an easy nomination to make.
"Michael stepped up right at the start of lockdown; amid all the uncertainty, anxiety and fear with a willingness to help his community.
"All the volunteer support during this time has been truly amazing and still continues.
"If you have even an odd hour to volunteer you to can make a real difference."
Call TRIP on 01404 46529 for more information on how you can become involved.
