A world-class musical performance is to be performed at the Beehive in Honiton on Saturday, February 29 starting at 7.30pm.
The Truth About Love promises to be a delightful evening of musical entertainment; full of classical hits from the world of opera and the musical theatre scene.
All proceeds from this one-off performance will go towards supporting people living with Dementia in the Honiton area.
Louise Walsh and Alison Kettlewell from English National Opera and The Royal Opera house are to be accompanied on the piano by Joyce Clarke and tenor, Tom Morris.
They will be joined by Devon Close Harmony Quartet, who will be performing a selection of close harmony favourites.
Louise is an internationally renowned soprano with credits including Christine in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera and English National Opera.
Alison, a Gittisham based international performer, comes fresh from the Royal Opera House stage.
Her credits include Katisha in English National Opera's production of Gilbert and Sullivan's the Mikado and operatic cover roles for Welsh National Opera, alongside Bryn Terfel in Blue Birds Castle, to name but a few!
Joyce Clarke has performed across the UK and has given piano recitals in Venice and, more recently, in Tuscany where, in 2019, she gave her third annual Recital at a Summer Festival near Arezzo.
Amanda, Tom, Simon and Nick started singing together as a quartet in 2012 as members of the chamber choir, ExeVox.
Although they initially sang close harmony in the American 'Barbershop' style, they have since gained a reputation for performing in a wide variety of musical styles; including rich and exciting contemporary arrangements of classic folk, pop, gospel and blues songs.
Chair of the Honiton Dementia Action Alliance, Heather Penwarden told Nub News: "We are absolutely delighted that Alison Kettlewell, who lives locally, has gathered some of her musical friends together for this evening of popular classical hits."
"The concert will be of the highest standard and will have something to appeal to a broad range of musical tastes, so it will be a real treat for music lovers in Honiton and beyond.
"The Beehive is a wonderful venue for such an event and tickets can be booked thorough the box-office.
"All profits from the concert will be divided between our Honiton Admiral Nurse fund and the Action East Devon Forget-me-not Project."
