Devon and Cornwall Police have identified the body of a man who was found in Sidmouth last week.

On Friday 25 November the police issued an appeal to the public to help identify the man who was found on the rocks at The Esplanade, Sidmouth. His body had been discovered the day before and the police were notified.

The man has now been identified and his next of kin have been informed. He is believed to have been in his 80s.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

"We would like to thank members of the public for their help in this matter."
