Two young volunteers, who have given up their free time to lend a hand to vulnerable members of the community during the coronavirus crisis, have received Easter eggs as a thank you for their efforts.

Caleb and Jai Freemantle, aged 17 and 16 from Honiton, were presented with the Easter eggs by Duncan Sheridan-Shaw, Community Manager at Tesco Honiton.

Cllr Sheridan-Shaw commented: "It is simply amazing to realise that there are so many people going out of there way to support our great community.

"There are some brilliant things done during this crisis by people who have put profit and sales aside for the better of their friends, neighbours and in this case complete strangers.

"These two young lads have stepped up with no regard to personal reward or fame, just to do what is right!

"We at Tesco Honiton congratulate their astonishing efforts and thank them for what they continue to do.

"At times like this we must all put our own needs aside for the better of those who need us.

"Now more than ever before we need to live by the mantra 'Duty First, Self Second'.

"Be safe Honiton!"
