Two accommodation options near Honiton win Gold at South West Tourism Awards
Two businesses offering holiday accommodation near Honiton have won Gold at the recent South West Tourism Awards.
Mazzard Farm Holiday Cottages won Gold in the Ethical, Responsible and Sustainable category. The farm is located on East Hill. Set in 17 acres of Devon countryside, it has has seven family-friendly holiday cottages.
The farm is owned by Ruud Jansen Venneboer and Jacqueline Parker. They told Nub News: "We're just so happy. It is a wonderful reward for 15 years of hard work.
"Sustainability is really important to us, so being recognised for what we do at this high a level means everything to us."
Not far away, The Pig at Combe was also recognised for offering outstanding accommodation in the Honiton area. Situated in the picturesque village of Gittisham, the hotel won Gold in the Small Hotels category.
Only last month the hotel was also awarded Gold in the Small Hotel Category, this time by the Devon Tourism Awards.
Chris Charles is the Hotel Director. He shared his reaction to the award with Nub News: "The entire team at The Pig at Combe is thrilled to have won Gold at the South West Tourism Awards.
"This award is testament to the hard work that everyone has put into making The Pig at Combe what it is today. We are so grateful to our guests too for supporting us and to our local community and suppliers for believing in what we do. Thank you!"
Coldharbour Field Kitchen was also awarded Silver in Casual Dining Category, meaning that a total of three businesses within just a few miles of Honiton were praised for their outstanding services.
