This week I decided to pay a visit to a Honiton institution, and I wasn't disappointed!

Toast is located at 155 high street. Outside, two small tables and chairs and the beautifully decorated windows draw customers inside.

On entering, you're warmly welcomed and shown into the café, which consists of two attractive rooms, a covered patio area and a large garden.

I ordered a cheese and ham toasted sandwich, macaroni and cheese, a portion of chips and a pot of tea. I told you I was hungry!

The café is nicely decorated and whilst I waited for my food, I looked at the display of old photos of Honiton, which was really interesting a lovely detail to the cafe. The garden is a real gem too - it is very pretty, with lots of small tables dotted around a central pond.

The ham and cheese toastie was also excellent – crunchy bread with thick cheese and good quality ham. It came with a lovely crunchy salad. The chips went down pretty quickly too!

If you haven't been to Toast recently, or if you've never been, I'd highly recommend it. You'll find the perfect place to have a rest after shopping in Honiton and the food really is excellent. I didn't have a chance to try the delicious looking cakes, but that gives me an excuse to
