News in Honiton

Woz On? Well in my world, a fair bit! I became a Grandad again, as Emma and Josh had a baby girl on Wednesday.

I popped down just after the birth to say hello and welcome Ruby to the Rice clan and I can report they were all fine. They are all now out of hospital and back at home contemplating a few years of not sleeping and nappies.

Friday night saw Honiton play their first game of the 2019-20 season which was a warm up/trial game against SW1 outfit North Petherton.

Despite playing well Honiton lost to the SW1 team 24-19.

Well we got stuffed in the test match which is first up, don't they know we won the cricket world cup? Still, on to the important sport - we play Wales on Sunday, so I suggest you get yourselves out of the gales, feet up and a glass of beer to cheer us on.

I'll give you my two pence worth on our performance next week. World Cup is just around the corner and I'm looking forward to it already.

Woz on, well it's nearly all done and dusted for this year and I'm sure a lot of the players and our committee are looking forward to a break from constantly having to think about the next big game.

Having said that, we still have the small matter of the Junior presentation day this Sunday and then the Big Charity day on the May 25.

Well, I know many of you have just had a surreal weekend as I did and I'm still pinching myself to check it wasn't all just a nice dream.

The Ton went to Twickenham and became National Champions. I'll say that again, Honiton are National Champions! Will they make it into a film? I wonder?
