An application to convert part of Pegasus House, located just off King's Street, into five new lower-cost homes was submitted by Burley Partnership Ltd on behalf of Mr Dave Vallender in May of this year.

The decision on whether the proposal gets the go ahead will take place at the Development Management Committee at East Devon District Council on September 3.

The plans detail two one-bed single storey apartments, one one-bed house and two two-bed houses, along with a bike and bin store.

Honiton Town Council has rejected the application for reasons of overdevelopment.

Speaking on behalf of St Michael's Ward, Cllr Luke Jeffery, said: "I had some concerns around this application due to the potential for overdevelopment and the impact of the building works on local residents, in line with the Environmental Health Officer.

"However, having read the officer's report on the application I am happy to support this application due to the social and environmental benefits referred to in the report and the need for housing in the town."

Honiton Nub News will keep provide an update when a decision has been made.
