Happening tomorrow: 729 Club live show
Tomorrow evening (24 August) will see singer Mawgan Scott and the 729 Club perform a range of songs in a special concert.
The Beehive will be host to tomorrow's event which will feature singer Mawgan Scott and the members of the 729 Club.
The 729 Club is based at the CUB on School Lane. It is a group for adults with learning difficulties which meets each Monday at the community centre.
Each week a different activity takes place for the members, for example film nights, crafting or a disco.
Tickets for tomorrow's show are just £5 and all the money will go towards helping the group pay for their activities and events.
Earlier this summer the CUB faced a funding crisis due to the poor condition of the building, which came close to causing the centre to close its door to the public.
More than 12 groups use the CUB on a weekly basis - approximately 500 people.
After an awareness campaign and a visit from Honiton's MP, a businessman from Honiton donated the money to enable the roof to be repaired and the building to stay open.
However, the building is old and needs renovation more generally.
Last week it was announced that Operation Rudolph would be based at the CUB building and its community Christmas meals would be held here too.
The show will run from 7pm - 9pm. You can purchase tickets by emailing [email protected]
