Honiton Carers receive donation from Co-op Funeral Care
The Honiton Carers received a donation from Co-op Funeral Care yesterday which will keep them enjoying tea for the foreseeable future!
The support group met at The Kitchen at Combe Garden Centre yesterday (Wednesday 7 June) for their regular 'Cuppa & Chat'.
Winnie Cameron told Nub News: "We were delighted to have Paul Grainger from Co-op Funeral Care visiting us and were thrilled when Paul donated a huge box of tea and a generous Gift Card to enable us to top up with coffee and tea as required.
"Paul had a lovely chat with our members and has promised to come back when he has even more time to chat.
"We are most grateful to be so well supported in the community."
The group also had a visit from Fay Valentine, the local Dementia Nurse who visits each month to offer support to the the carers and their loved ones living with dementia.
Honiton Carers is one of three causes chosen by Co-op members for 2023. Last November the Honiton Carers were presented with a cheque for £2079.17 which had been donated by the Co-op from its Local Community Fund.
If you are an unpaid carer and would like to join the group you can attend one of their events and there is no need to book.
Honiton Carers will be at Honiton Co-op store all day on Saturday 10 June, bringing awareness to the community about carers and the support they can receive.
