Honiton has three locations where people can go if they are struggling to heat their home this winter, or if they need company.

This year people's energy bills have soared, and many people are finding it difficult to find the additional money needed to pay the bills. The price of heating a home is expected to increase further in April, when the government's energy price cap pledge comes to an end.

It comes as Honiton Primary School are reaching out to support families in need by providing wrap around care and uniform banks.

Foodbanks are also under increasing pressure to meet rising demand.

Three organisations in Honiton have announced that they can be used by people as a 'warm space', so they can turn off their heating at home and spend some time in a warm place.

They are also offering free or low-cost tea and coffee.

Community Use Building (CUB)

The CUB building is located on School Lane, opposite the LED Leisure Centre.

Opening hours: 'Warm Up Thursday', every Thursday from 1pm – 5pm.

People are invited to attend for a chat, game of cards and perhaps make some new friends. There will be free tea, coffee and snacks available.

The Beehive

Opening hours: Tuesdays between 1-5pm at the Beehive, Honiton,

A spokesperson for Honiton Town Council said: "All are welcome to come and join us for free tea and coffee."

The Library

Opening hours: From 9am (closed Thursday and Sundays)

Linda Isaacson is Honiton Library Supervisor. She told Nub News: "We are offering ourselves as a warm, free and welcoming space for people to just come and sit."

You do not need to be a member of the library to use the warm space. Visitors are able to sit and read, use the free Wifi or use one of the libraries computers (if you'd like to use the free Wifi or one of the computers you need to be a member, but it is free to join).

You can find a list of Warm Spaces here
